AWARE is a national education campaign with a singular goal of building a greater understanding among consumers about how the vehicle financing process works. As part of our continuing commitment to educate consumers, we have created this monthly e-newsletter to provide you and your organization with news, information and other resources that you can use to enhance any auto financing education or information you provide to consumers.

Information is power – it will give you power to negotiate, and power over yourself to make the best decision using cold, hard facts instead of your heart...The first thing to do is create a budget to determine how much you can afford to pay on a monthly basis. [Click here to read more]

AWARE IN THE NEWS

The Associated Press recently covered an AWARE survey indicating that 3 out of 4 Americans do not check their credit score or research financing options before visiting a dealership. The AP suggested "…a short stint with Auto Financing 101 before you saunter into a car dealership."

Jean Chatzky, a widely respected nationally syndicated columnist, also wrote about the AWARE survey in a column that appeared in the New York Daily News. The column included some of AWARE's tips to help consumers navigate the auto financing process.
